Jagathy Sreekumar Actor Pictures Interview Biography
Sreekumar, popularly known as Jagathy Sreekumar or Jagathy is a Malayalam film actor, mainly noted for his roles as a comedian. He is considered as one of the best comedians in the history of Malayalam films.
Biography
Born on January 5, 1950 in Jagathy, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He is the son of noted dramatist and writer N. K. Achary who, much like his son, is also known as Jagathy N. K. Achary after his place of birth. N. K. Achary was a All India Radio employee. Even from childhood, Jagathy Sreekumar had the dream of becoming an actor.
He has two children: Rajkumar, who is a bank employee and Parvathi (Lakshmi) she is a Law student, and married.
Career
Jagathy was a Class V student at Model School in Thiruvananthapuram when he first got the opportunity to act in a play. By the time he joined Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram he had become an experienced theatre person. However, it was while working as a medical representative in Chennai that he chanced upon the role of a comedian in Chattambi Kalyani. His work in the film earned him recognition. With 1,100-odd Malayalam films to his credit, he is reckoned as one of the best actors in the industry. He is a different person altogether in real life, where he is very serious in contrast to jovial characters he often portrays. He is one of the true believers of movie as a profession.

Jagathy has acted in over 1100 films, which certainly is a world record after Sukumari.
Jagathy has never acted in any language other than Malayalam
In 2006, he acted in 21 films.
Jagathy never carries a mobile phone, making him one among the small bunch of film personalities to do so. Also he doesn't have any assistants or secretaries.
To get Jagathy for an event, you will have to show him the receipt of donating at least Rs.10000 to a child rehabilitation centre.
Jagathy still uses an old car used by his father Jagathy N. K. Achary.
Jagathy is a supporter of Indian National Congress[citation needed] and was a member of KSU, students wing of INC. His father was a freedom fighter.
