Anupama Verma is a model, actress, and television personality from Delhi. She was discovered by well known celebrity photographer Shantanu Sheorey when she was in ninth grade. Her first modeling assignment was with Shekhar Kapur for Digjam suiting.
She has been a cover girl for many leading Indian magazines, and has modeled for a huge range of consumer products such as Fair and Lovely, Siyaram, Harry's collections, Pantene, Lipton, Monte Carlo among others.
Apart from modelling, Anupama had a successful parallel career in television as a VJ on Channel [V].
It was rumored that she was the reason for the split between Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. In 2006 she starred in the Indian reality show Bigg Boss later, she was evicted and replaced with Rakhi Sawant.
On the show Bigg Boss, Anupama had developed a relationship with model Aryan Vaid. Aryan was supposedly madly in love with Anupama and was very emotional when they parted when he got evicted from the show before Anupama. In the final episode of the show, it was discovered that the beautiful relationship that started on the show could not last in the real world. An emotional Anupama said that Aryan was not the same person outside and she could not relate to him anymore.
She also acted in Doordarshan channel's serial program "Ankhen" where she plays the protagonist, who can foresee crimes that are immediately committed after she has seen them.
Anupama featured in the remix video of Biddu's 1980's mega hit song Boom Boom sung by the Pakistani singer Nazia Hassan, further increasing her popularity.
She was also seen in Bali Brahmbhatt's "Tere bin jeena nahi" with Bikram Saluja, Leslie Lewis' "Bheegi bheegi raaton mein" videos, and in "Saare sapne kahin kho gaye" from Alka Yagnik's superhit album "Tum Yaad Aaye".
She has an MBA degree in Marketing & Finance from FMS Delhi.
Anupama is also an ambassador for various anti-smoking campaigns, notably Crusade Against Tobacco.
