MK Balaji is an Indian playback singer, who hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He has worked with leading music composers like Vijay Antony and G. V. Prakash Kumar. He is the lead vocalist of the fusion band V3 which won the band hunt Oohlalala judged by AR Rahman.

Biography

His launch as a playback singer was for the Tamil film Pandhayam , directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar. The music for the movie was scored by Vijay Antony. He sang the songs Surangani and Chinna Maamiye for the film. His other hit numbers include Sexy Lady for the movie Ninaithale Inikkum (2009 film) starring Prithviraj, Karthik Kumar, Sakthi Vasu, Priyamani, Vellaikari for the film Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam in the music of G. V. Prakash Kumar, Enge Poveno for the film Angaadi Theru , directed by Veyil Vasanthabalan ,Indha kadhal from the movie Kanagavel Kakka,Rasikkum Seemane for the film Rasikkum Seemane, Oru Kinnathai for the film Indira Vizha. His first release in Telugu was Dailamo Dailamo for the movie Mahatma directed by Krishna Vamsi.

He has also hosted shows in Tamil channels "Paadum Office" in STAR Vijay, "Airtel top Jodi in Raj TV and "The Breakfast Show" in Zee Tamil. "

Early life

He started his singing career with various Television reality shows including Airtel Super Singer, Raagamalika , Saptha Swarangal, SS Music Launch Pad, etc. His band V3 presented a sound track in the Oohlalala Album which consists of tracks by the winners of the show Oohlalala aired in the Tamil channel SUN TV. It was judged by the Oscar winner AR Rahman
